Tommy Bowe hangs up his boots

Ireland and Ulster wing Tommy Bowe has announced that he will call time on his professional career at the end of the season.

Bowe, 33, has won 69 caps for his country and was a two-time British and Irish Lions tourist, in 2009 (South Africa) and 2013 (Australia).

However he has recently endured an injury-hit spell and is unlikely to add to his international appearances and will retire after 2017/18.

The experienced Bowe wrote in a Tweet on Monday evening that he "had some incredible years but it is time to tell you – this is my last!"
