Cape Town goes kid friendly

Tickets to the Cape Town Sevens go on sale on Friday, and this year the focus is on providing a family friendly experience.

Again staged at the Cape Town Stadium, on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of December, tickets to the award winning event going on sale at 09h00 on Friday 28 July through Computicket and designated retail stores.

The cheapest tickets will cost R150, and the most expensive R300 per day.

“The HSBC Cape Town Sevens is regarded as one of the best sporting events in South Africa and we aim to improve the experience every year,” said SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux.

“Feedback we’ve received has indicated a strong need for a ‘family experience’ which is why we’ve blocked out the North Stand as an alcohol-free zone, with the Kiddies Village there to provide entertainment for the little ones during the day – free of charge.

“The South Stand will be the party stand again and we’re excited to see what fun ways fans will come up with to show their support for the Blitzboks and the other teams in action.

“We would also like to ask supporters only to buy tickets from authorised outlets – the Computicket website or app, and participating outlets at Shoprite or Checkers stores nationwide. Tickets or packages purchased from other online agencies or companies are completely unofficial and entry cannot be guaranteed by SA Rugby.”

Given the demand, people can only buy 10 tickets at a time.

Named as Best Live Sports Experience in South Africa at the Discovery Sport Industry Awards earlier this year, the event is again expected to thrill a sell-out crowd over the two days. Supporters are advised to get their tickets for the event as soon as possible, in order to avoid disappointment.

Hospitality and travel packages are available from SA Rugby through Mingon van Rooyen.
