South Africa international JJ Engelbrecht will rejoin the Stormers for the 2018 Super Rugby season.
The centre came through the system at Western Province before signing for the Bulls in 2012. That was where he made his breakthrough, becoming a regular in the Pretoria-based side’s Super Rugby team and earning a call up to the national squad.
He then moved to the Toyota Industries Shuttles in 2015, but will now head back to Cape Town when his commitments with the Japanese outfit ends.
Engelbrecht joins 13 other senior players in committing to Western Province Rugby, with JC Janse van Rensburg, Nizaam Carr, Dillyn Leyds, Jano Vermaak and SP Marais among those to have agreed new contracts.
Director of rugby Gert Smal said: “We are excited about the depth of talent that we have at our disposal with a number of senior players committing who will be able to provide valuable guidance for the talented youngsters coming through.
“It is important that we keep on moving forward in terms of our results, playing style and composure in all areas.”
