Former Springbok full-back Johan Goosen is training with the Cheetahs ahead of his move to Top 14 heavyweights Montpellier next season.
It was revealed in February that Goosen would join Montpellier after owner Mohed Altrad agreed a deal with Racing 92 to buy Goosen out of his contract €1.5-million (R22-million).
Goosen took time off from the game following the Racing debacle when he temporarily 'retired' in December 2016 to take up a role as a commercial director on a farm in Bloemfontein, and sees this little stint with the Cheetahs as the ideal opportunity to get back in shape ahead of his move to the South of France.
"It is a big compliment for FS [Free State] Rugby that the ex-Cheetah and Springbok flyhalf, Johan Goosen, has chosen to train with the Cheetahs to get his game back on track before joining Montpellier," the Cheetahs stated on Twitter.
"He will be training with the team until the end of June and can be selected if on form."
