Ratings: Venter MVP, Lood Moegoe

Bok inside centre Francois Venter picks up this week’s MVP in the All Out Rugby ratings, while baby-faced lock Lood de Jager is the man who hits rock bottom.

The All Out Rugby Player Ratings allow fans to vent (or high five) a little on Sunday and Monday mornings by rating the Bok players and coach out of 10. Every user rating then contributes to the official All Out Rugby Player Ratings – which close at midnight on a Monday.

One try, 62m from 9 carries, 1 line break, 17 tackles and only 1 missed tackle and a single handling error in the Boks’ 35-6 win against Italy on Saturday was enough for Venter to catch Joe Rater’s eye. On a rating of 7.1, he was the only player to break into the 7s, edging eighthman Duane Vermeulen (on 6.6 out of 10) to this week’s MVP.

At the wrong end of the Rating scale, De Jager finds himself as the only player dipping below the traditional pass mark of 5. Despite his 26 tackles, of which 6 were dominant, De Jager picks up the Moegoe of the Week award on a rating of 4.9. Perhaps it was his 6 handing errors that irked Joe Rater?

If it were up to the Raters, Lions lock Franco Mostert would be the man doing battle with Eben Etzebeth in the second row. On a rating of 6.5 out of 10, he was deemed to have had the biggest impact off the bench.

You can also have a little fun by comparing the various Ratings using the drop down menu. Have a look at how the boys rated the players in comparison with girls, or perhaps compare the Stormers fans Ratings to those of the Lions fans.

This week, the ladies have Handre Polard as their MVP on 8 out of 10, and Beast Mtawarira as their Moegoe on 5.6 out of 10.

Anyone know anything on Beast’s injury? As he limped off I said to my mates that could be his last test depending on how serious the injury is.
Lood’s hands let him down but a guy that makes 26 tackles (6dominant) cant really be regarded as a Moegoe
