Stander linked to Montpellier

CJ Stander is the latest to be linked with a move away from Munster, with Montpellier apparently looking to bring in the Ireland international.

Following the news that Simon Zebo would be leaving and the rumours surrounding Peter O’Mahony’s future, the 27-year-old is also being tempted by the riches of the Top 14, according to the Irish Independent.

Stander has been a vital cog at both provincial and international level, producing performances which earned him a call-up to the Lions squad over the summer.

The IRFU’s latest offer is believed to have fallen short of the number eight’s expectations and, with the big-spending French club having the financial power to unsettle the back-row, Stander may be lured away.
