Duane Vermeulen has reportedly confirmed he will return to South Africa with the Stormers ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
According to French publication L'Equipe, this will be Vermeulen's final season at Toulon since joining the Top 14 giants after the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The report further states that Vermeulen’s decision is said to be “dictated by his willingness to best prepare for the 2019 World Cup with the Springboks”.
Reports last year suggested national director of rugby Rassie Erasmus wanted to lure the 31-year-old back to South Africa.
And it appears Erasmus has now managed to recruit his man with Vermeulen one of the favourites to captain the Springboks as former Munster mentor Erasmus looks to imprint his blueprint on the Boks.
