What a vibe, Cape Town!

Though the Blitzboks didn’t race to Cup glory, the 2018 Cape Town Sevens leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series was a blast for everyone that attended.

Former Blitzboks workhorse Ruhan Nel rolled up his sleeves for a bit of media duty on Sunday and got some great feedback from fans.

If you didn’t see them on the telly, that’s because Nick, Naas, Breytie and the rest of the SuperSport A-Team were at Cape Town Stadium.

Green hair, body paint and inflatable ducks. Sounds about right!

Some guys spent more time on their hair than others.

Fans and players weren’t the only ones getting in on the action. As spotted by speed connoisseur Bryan Habana, french referee Jeremy Rozier has got jet shoes!

The Blitzboks beat Scotland in the quarters but lost out to eventual champions Fiji in the semis.

After South Africa rallied to beat New Zealand for the bronze medal, Rosko Specman was named in the Cape Town Sevens Dream Team.

It was very entertaining to watch! Some brilliant games!

Agreed Chris superbly as ever and Cape Town still brimming with international tourists. Really great for the region.
SA performance a bit dissapointing! There has been a changing of the guard and some of the newbies are battling to fill big boots!
Though it may be a bit critical, we came third after all, I think we are better than that. We have the ability to do better! Look forward to the NZ your, though venue is really incomparable to CT!

Bear in mind the amount of new faces and injuries. It’ll be a tough year for the Blitzboks and a real test of their depth.

The Blitzies the only team to stretch the Fijians this weekend … My money right now is that the Blitzies finish second to the big Fijians this season and really come of age at the next Olympics. However, having said that … the Americans are starting to show some real promise! Barrett is a TANK!
